Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate

As an experienced RN with a master’s degree, you’ve already made the connection between quality care and higher education. Now, you’re looking to expand your knowledge and influence through additional, focused learning.

Our Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate program can help you achieve those goals. Available to residents of Arizona and California, this program seeks to develop your leadership skills in advanced practice nursing. You’ll also work to refine your assessment and client management expertise in order to attain a level of professional competency to practice more independently. Upon completion of this program, you’ll be eligible to sit for the National Family Nurse Practitioner Certification exam.

What you'll learn

The Family Nurse Practitioner Post Masters Certificate is designed to develop and enhance the knowledge and skills of registered nurses. It is also designed for those nurses who want to pursue more advanced positions in today's challenging health care environment. The program blends nursing theory with advanced practice concepts necessary to successfully work within the structure, culture, and mission of any size health care organization or educational setting. This program allows a Masters of Nursing prepared nurse to complete a nurse to complete a nurse practitioner program and apply for state licensure. The Family Nurse Practitioner Post Masters Certificate curriculum consists of 41 credits.

This program educationally prepares nurses for advanced practice to function in leadership roles in practice and educational settings and emphasizes comprehensive, preventative care in addition to treatment. Graduates are eligible to sit for the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Family Nurse Practitioner — Board Certified (FNP-BC) credential or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) Family Nurse Practitioner — Certified (FNP-C) credential.
